Mechanobiology and Physics of Life in Lyon - Jan 12th 2016

Dear all,

You are welcome to the first workshop in Mechanobiology and Physics of Life to be held in Lyon on Tuesday January12th 2016 (place to be confirmed soon). Mechanobiology is becoming a hot topic across biology, biophysics, and bioengineering. This workshop aims at strengthening the local community (Lyon and Rhône-Alpes area), and at fostering links between its members and with new members. This workshop will cover all aspects of mechanobiology, including development and cancer, as well as approaches such as micromechanical measurements (including atomic force microscpy), microfluidics, advanced 3D microscopy, or modelling.

 The keynote speakers are :

- Peter Friedel (MD Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas, and Department. of Cell Biology, Nijmegen),

- Jacque Prost (Institut Curie, Paris, and Mechanobiology Institute, Singapore).

You are invited to participate and/or submit an abstract. Short talks and posters with flash talks will be selected among proposed abstracts. Researchers not yet involved in the field are welcome to apply for a poster so as to present their research and state their interests in mechanobiology and physics of life.

The workshop is free but compulsory registration and abstract submission are open at http://mechanobio-lyon.sciencesconf.org/registration/index

The deadline for registration and abstracts is extended until december 1st 2015

The organizing committee,
